2023 Royal Enfield Himalayan 452 could produce 39.47 BHP

New details pertaining to the upcoming Royal Enfield Himalayan 452 have surfaced online. According to a media report, the upcoming bike will develop 39.47 BHP.

Powertrain details of the Himalayan 452

It is said that the 451.65cc single-cylinder engine will develop a peak power of 39.47 BHP @ 8,000 rpm. Power will be sent to the rear wheel via a 6-speed gearbox. The new Himalayan 452 is based on the new 450cc platform. This new platform will further spawn a host of other bikes. Earlier reports indicated that this new single cylinder engine will be rated around 35-40 BHP and 40 Nm.

Royal Enfield Himalayan 452 : More Details

In terms of design, the new larger displacement Himalayan looks similar to the regular Himalayan. However, the bike maker has incorporated some changes as well. The front gets a circular LED lamp, windscreen and a revised mudguard. Royal Enfield is offering wire-spoke wheels, which means the tyre could be of tube-type variety. There are disc brakes on both wheels along with dual channel ABS.

Further, the fuel tank appears to be larger and the bike gets a split-seat layout. There are multiple luggage mounts for a host of configurations like panniers, side boxes, top boxes etc. The Himalayan 450 will be positioned as a touring machine.

The bike also gets a new digital instrument cluster. Royal Enfield has also updated the switchgear and the new Himalayan 450 could get updated controls. Keeping up with the times, the bike will get USB socket and Bluetooth smartphone connectivity as well.

Competition of the Royal Enfield Himalayan 452

While there is no official word yet on the pricing of this motorbike, we can expect the Himalayan 450 to cost to the tune of INR 3 lakh (ex-showroom). This would mean, the bike would head on against the likes of the KTM 390 Adventure, BMW G 310 GS and the Yezdi Adventure.
