Land Rover’s latest release, the next-generation Range Rover Sport, has found its place on the India website. Prices start from INR 1.64 crore (ex-showroom). The new SUV will be available in four variants – SE, HSE, Autobiography and First Edition. As per reports, the bookings will commence sometime this year, with deliveries starting from November 2022.
What Do We Know So Far?
Based on the MLA-Flex architecture, the 2023 Range Rover Sport retains its iconic exterior design. Although, the SUV now has a longer wheelbase. The front continues to have the dominating aggressive look, although the grille and headlights have gotten slimmer. On the side, there’s not much happening. It’s pretty plain and vanilla but pitch-perfect, just how it always has been. One key highlight is the flush-fitting door handles. The maximum of the changes is visible on the rear.
The tail lamps have grown slim and fit perfectly into the bodywork. The rear bumper now gets a black skid plate and twin rectangular exhaust tips. On the inside, the SUV gets a 13.1-inch touchscreen with the Pivi Pro infotainment system, a digital instrument console measuring 13.7-inch, and a new 3-spoke steering wheel. Other key features include ClearSight IRVM, 22-way power-adjustable seats with massage function, dynamic air suspension and Terrain Response 2 with adaptive off-road cruise control. Furthermore, the system also learns the user’s habits and intelligently personalises the experience. In a nutshell, this is your intuitive personal assistant.
Engine And Mechanicals
On the Indian website, the Range Rover Sport available gets the single 3.0-litre, 6-cylinder diesel engine option. The performance figure reads as 345 BHP and 700 Nm. The equipped gearbox is an 8-speed automatic. Having launched the hybrid and V8 versions in the international market, we expect to see them in the Indian market later. The new Range Rover also benefits from the Intelligent All-Wheel Drive (iAWD) system.
