Maruti Suzuki has launched the 2023 Tour S. The Tour range of vehicles is primarily aimed at fleet operators and as such come with a speed governor amongst others. The price starts at INR 6.51 lakh for the petrol while the CNG version is priced at INR 7.36 lakh ex-showroom.
The Tour S is essentially the new Dzire aimed at commercial buyers. Till now, the Tour S always used to be the previous-generation Dzire, but now, with the latest update, both the private and commercial Dzires are at par, atleast visually. The Maruti Suzuki Dzire already has over 22 lakh customers.
In terms of differences, the Tour S now comes with a redesigned front end with a hexagonal grille along with headlights on both flanks. The tail tights are LED and the boot lid features a ‘Tour S’ moniker.
Customers can choose from these three colour options – Arctic White, Midnight Black and Silky Silver.
Maruti has equipped the Tour S with the tried and tested 1.2-litre K-Series engine. This motor belts out 89 BHP @ 6,000 rpm and 113 Nm @ 4,400 rpm. On CNG, the output of the same engine reads 76 BHP @ 6,000 rpm and 98.5 Nm @ 4,300 rpm. In comparison with the outgoing model the CNG version is said to 21 percent more economical.
Maruti Suzuki claims a fuel economy of 23.5 km/l for the petrol and 32.12 km/kg for the CNG version. In fact, the Tour version has better fuel economy than the regular Dzire CNG by 1 km/kg.
Maruti has been generous with the safety kit on the car. The company has offered features like ESP, ABS with EBD and Brake Assist, reverse parking sensors and dual airbags. There are also ISOFIX child seat anchors and speed dependent door locking. The Tour S is restricted to 80 km/h.
