After launching the 2022 Tucson with a host of ADAS features, Hyundai will expand the set of features to other models as well. The next models to get it will likely be the Creta and the Alcazar. However, those won’t be the only models to get it.
We know Hyundai is busy road-testing the next-gen Verna in India as well as internationally. Now, the latest spy shots of the next-gen Verna show a radar on the front bumper. Thus, Hyundai could offer the Verna with ADAS features too.
The new spy shots of the 2023 Verna show us a host of things. But, the most notable bit is the presence of a front radar on the bumper. Thus, it could get ADAS features like the Hyundai Tucson. Currently, the only other car in its segment to offer ADAS features is the Honda City e:HEV Hybrid. The 2023 Verna could get ADAS features like lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, rear cross-traffic alert and blind spot detection.
In addition to this, the spy shot also shows us more details of the 2023 Verna. Though still under heavy camouflage, we can see that the design will draw inspiration from the latest Elantra that’s available overseas. The grille is much bigger than the current Verna and extends across the width of the car. Meanwhile, the headlights are also much lower down compared to the current Verna.
As with any new Hyundai, expect the 2023 Verna to come with a host of new features. Some of them could be a digital instrument cluster, a Bose Sound System and a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment display. Hyundai will carry over other features such as ventilated seats, sunroof, keyless entry with push button start and wireless phone charger.
As far as powertrain goes, Hyundai will likely continue to offer the same engines and transmission options. Thus, it will continue with 1.5-litre petrol, a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel. However, Hyundai could add the option of a 6-speed iMT to the turbo-petrol motor. It won’t be new as a lot of Hyundai and Kia cars are already available with it.
