2023 Hyundai Verna could get ADAS features

Written by Kanad Kalasur

Once again, the 2023 Hyundai Verna has been spotted testing. The car was under heavy camouflage, but the most interesting bit could be the clearly visible ADAS radar at the front. This would mean that the car could get ADAS features.

What’s new in the 2023 Hyundai Verna?

We can also notice that the car appears to be of the top-spec N-line variant. There are sporty dual-tone alloy wheels which are similar to the ones available with the Venue N Line.

In terms of overall design, the Verna borrows a lot of styling cues from its elder sibling – the Elantra. It gets a wide grille with headlamps on both sides, a design based on the Sensuous Sportiness theme.  Verna’s roof-line can best be described as a coupe-like roof line. The tail lights of the Verna are similar to the Elantra. And as confirmed today, it will come with ADAS tech as well.

Powertrain options on the 2023 Hyundai Verna

In terms of engine options, Hyundai could continue to offer the 1.5-litre NA petrol, a 1.4-litre turbo petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. While stricter emission norms have ensured a slow death for the diesels, Hyundai would be modifying its diesels to meet the stricter emission norms. For gearbox duties, Hyundai could offer a 6-speed manual, a CVT for the NA petrol, a 6-speed automatic and a DCT gearbox as well.

Competition of the Hyundai Verna

Hyundai has always been a strong contender in its segment. Thanks to ADAS technology, it will be the second car in the segment after Honda City to get features like adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, lane departure warning, frontal collision warning, etc. The Hyundai Verna will compete with the likes of Honda City, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, VW Virtus and Skoda Slavia.
