Hyundai continues to share teasers and information about their upcoming Exter small SUV for the Indian market. The brand has now revealed that the Exter will be launched with a smart electric sunroof which would be a segment first feature. Also, the Exter will have another segment best feature, which is a dashcam with dual cameras. Hyundai will launch the Exter SUV in India on 10th of July, 2023.
Hyundai will retail the Exter in 6 monotone & 3 dual tone colours along with new blue & khaki paint options. The Exter will be sold in 5 variants too, with petrol & CNG fuel options as well.
Hyundai Exter Competition
Hyundai’s Exter would be a smaller SUV compared to the Venue. Both however, will be positioned in the sub-4-metre SUV segment. The Exter would ideally rival the likes of Tata Punch, as a micro-SUV for the city. This is not a proper off-road vehicle, but a B-segment car which is rough road friendly in the looks department. Expect the pricing of the Exter to undercut the Venue by a noteworthy margin, and one can expect some price overlap with the Grand i10 Nios & i20.
Hyundai Exter Tech Features
Hyundai Exter’s smart electric sunroof will be voice enabled. It can be opened with voice commands such as ‘Open Sunroof’ or ‘I want to see the sky’. Such features should appeal to the new car buyers. The dual camera dashcam will include a camera which records video and pictures from both, the front and rear camera. This would also have a 5.84 cm LCD display which will be compatible with a smartphone app. There would be multiple recording modes available and will also support full HD video resolution. Modes will include normal driving, event safety and vacation timelapse.
Look closely, and you will notice that the rear view mirror is not of the electrochromic type. However, there would be connected car features thanks to the Bluelink connectivity.
