Hyundai has officially started accepting bookings for their new Exter. Also, the brand has officially revealed the exterior design of the Exter which will arrive in India to rival the likes of Tata Punch. Potential customers can pay INR 11,000 and book the Hyundai Exter at a dealership, or online.
Hyundai will be offering the Exter in multiple powertrain options. The primary motor would be the 1.2L, naturally aspirated Kappa engine which is E20 fuel ready. This engine will be matched to either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a Smart Auto AMT gearbox. The same engine will also be available in a bi-fuel CNG kit version matched only with a 5-speed manual gearbox. Hyundai claims that the motor has been tuned for the Exter to deliver consistent performance and efficiency.
Hyundai has announced that the Exter will be sold in 5 trim options in India which include Ex, S, Sx, SX (O) & SX (O) Connect. This also hints that the top variant will come with Bluelink connected car features. Hyundai will also introduce a new ranger khaki paint option to suit the SUV appearance of the Exter. Cosmic blue will be another exclusive paint option for the Exter. Customers can also opt for dual tone paint scheme.
Hyundai has confirmed a few set of features for the Exter micro SUV. The brand reveals that the Exter will come with a new SUV design language, parametric front grille, H shaped LED DRL signature, projector headlamp setup, skid plates on the bumper and Exter branding on the front bumper as well. One can also notice diamond cut alloy wheels, blacked out wheel arches, side sill plastic cladding, floating roof effect, parametric design on C-pillar, bridge type roof rails, etc.
Hyundai’s new Exter SUV would slot below the Hyundai Venue sub-4 metre compact SUV in India. So this should give you a clear indicator about the cars pricing. Now that bookings are open and the Exter is fully revealed, expect the official launch to happen very soon.
