Honda has just announced the launch of the 2023 City facelift. And along with it, the City e:HEV has been launched as well. The City e:HEV is offered in two variants – the V priced at INR 18,89,000 and the top-end X at INR 20,39,000.
For starters, the Honda now offers a slew of interior and exterior updates. These include a new grille design, new front and rear bumper, a boot spoiler and new design 16-inch alloys. Apart from these, the Japanese carmaker has introduced a new paint option called as the Obsidian Blue Pearl as well.
On the inside, the City e:HEV gets an ivory and black colour scheme. Features like wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are now available. Honda has also updated the infotainment system, improved the rear camera, and added features like wireless charger, rain sensing wipers, electric sunroof and ambient lighting.
Further, the City e:HEV now comes with a new instrument cluster which gets a carbon fibre pattern. It also gets piano black AC vents and steering wheel garnish.
The new Honda City e:HEV comes with a 1.5-litre Atkinson Cycle I-VTEC DOHC engine. Honda has paired this petrol engine with a self-charging and highly efficient twin-motor e-CVT Hybrid system. The Intelligent Power Unit (IPU) draws power from a Lithium-Ion battery pack. The battery pack is able to power the City Hybrid at low speeds on electric-only power.
The IPU produces a combined output of 126 PS of power and 253 Nm of torque matched to an engine-linked direct coupling clutch. Honda claims that the hybrid powertrain is capable of returning a fuel efficiency of 27.13 km/l.
The company has also launched the fifth-generation City. Prices start from INR 11.49 lakh and go up to INR 15.97 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the top-end automatic. The City facelift gets some minor cosmetic changes. But, in terms of features, the sedan has now offers more equipment. Customers can also get a new colour shade compared to the outgoing car.
