Bookings for the Citroen eC3 have finally commenced. The much awaited car is the company’s first all-electric model for the Indian market. The eC3 will be offered in two variants – Live and Feel. The booking amount is set at INR 25,000.
The Citroen eC3 is nothing but the all-electric variant of the C3. Visually, the eC3 looks identical to the petrol counterpart. Infact even the front end has no distinguishing features. Even the grille looks un-blanked, which for EVs is usually covered.
The only true rival to Citroen’s product is the Tata Tiago EV, but the brand claims that they slot in a notch higher. Citroen C3 electric’s launch is a part of the company’s smart car programme, referred to as the C-cubed programme.
Offered in two variants, namely the Live and Feel, it gets features like a three-spoke steering wheel, height adjustable driver’s seat and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The car also boasts over 35 connected car features.
Citroen has equipped the eC3 with an electric motor that is mounted at the front. This motor generates 56 BHP and 143 Nm of peak torque. A 29.2 kWh battery pack has been paired with this motor. It gets a 3.3 kWh AC charger.
The coming claims a 0-60 km/h time of 6.8 seconds with a top speed of 107 Km/h. The claimed ARAI range is 320 km. The battery takes 10.5 hours to charge using a home charger while it takes just 57 mins for a 10-80 percent top up using a DC fast charger.
The company has offered a 3 year / 1,25,000 km standard warranty on the eC3. The battery comes with a 7 year / 1,40,000 km warranty while the motor comes with a 5 year / 1,00,000 km warranty.
