BMW Motorrad has unveiled a new motorbike for the international markets. The 2023 BMW Motorrad R 1250 R is a naked roadster biker. It uses the 1254cc boxer-twin engine that develops 136 BHP of power.
While BMW has retained the mechanicals of the bike, it now gets new standard features and optional extras. The bike gets new full-LED headlamps with new design LED indicators and daytime running lights. This makes the lighting on the bike all-LED. Riders can also opt for adaptive turning lights which can be purchased as accessories. The driver display consists of a colour TFT display with the ‘Sport’ Core Screen as standard. The 2023 BMW Motorrad R 1250 R also gets USB port and an emergency call assist system.
The electronics now get a dynamic traction control system and a new Eco Driving mode as standard. BMW is also offering Integral ABS Pro and Dynamic Brake control as standard features. In terms of optional equipment, owners can opt to get their bikes configured with Riding Pro Modes (with riding mode pre-selection) and Engine Drag Torque Control.
BMW has retained the boxer-twin engine. The 1,254cc unit gets BMW ShiftCam technology and generates 136 BHP at 7,250rpm and 143 Nm of peak torque at 6,250rpm in Euro5 specification.
BMW will offer the motorcycle in three colour options – base paint scheme, Triple Black and Sport. The bike hasn’t yet been confirmed for an India launch, but we can expect it to arrive sometime before mid-2023.
BMW has announced a base price of US$ 14,995 or INR 12,39,519. The bike will initially retail in the European and American markets
