Benelli has taken the wraps off the new adventure-tourer for the international markets. The TRK800 will compete with other bikes in the segment, like the KTM 890 Adventure and the Triumph Tiger 900. The bike was unveiled at the ongoing 2022 EICMA Show in Milan, Italy. Benelli has also revealed other bikes at this show, like the BKX250, TRK 702 and 702 S and the Benelli Tornado Twin 500.
Design of the Benelli TRK800
The bike gets an adventure-tourer design. It receives a semi-fairing with a beak at the front. The headlight design consists of a twin-pod setup with T-shaped LED DRLs. There is also a windscreen, knuckle guards, radiator shrouds and a split-style seat. The Benelli TRK800 also gets an upswept exhaust, a sump guard and wire-spoke rims that can be used with tubeless tyres.
Features of the Benelli TRK800
Other goodies on the bike include a 50 mm Marzocchi upside-down front suspension and a rear mono-shock. While the front shockers are adjustable for rebound, compress and spring preload, the rear can be adjusted for spring preload and hydraulic rebound damping. Braking duties are handled by twin 320 mm discs at the front and a single 260 mm rotor at the back. Benelli has kitted the TRK800 with 19-inch front, and 17-inch rear aluminium alloy wheels with wire spoke rims.
Engine of the Benelli TRK800
Benelli has used the 754 cc engine borrowed from the Leoncino 800. The twin-cylinder unit gets liquid cooling, four-stroke generates 76.2 BHP @ 8,5-00 rpm and a peak torque of 67 Nm @ 6,500 rpm. This engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox that gets a torque-assisted wet clutch and a slipper clutch mechanism as well.
Launch and availability of the Benelli TRK800
Benelli has said that the bike would be available at the international dealers by the middle of 2023. That said, details of the Indian launch have not yet been shared.
