Bajaj Auto Ltd taking significant steps in the electric vehicle (EV) business. To keep up with the rivals in the segment, Chetak has developed a Premium Edition of the Chetak. Customers can have the scooter in three new colours. These are Matte Coarse Grey, Matte Caribbean Blue, and Satin Black. The base variant of Chetak gets a price tag of INR 1.22 lakh (ex-showroom).
The 2023 Chetak Premium Edition gets an all-metal body with premium materials used for detailing. The large new all-colour LCD display console provides all the riding statistics. Other key highlights include a dual-toned seat, body-coloured rear view mirrors, grab rail and pillion footrest castings in a satin black finish. Headlamp casing, blinkers, and central trims add a charcoal black touch to the overall outlook.
Bajaj has scaled the production up to 10k Chetak e-scooters per month. With this, Bajaj Auto Ltd is now focused on cost efficiency to improve customer accessibility. In fact, it has also undertaken supply chain restructuring and development programmes with key vendors.
Customers planning to get one can book the 2023 Chetak Premium Edition. Deliveries will likely start from April 2023 onward. Currently, the Chetak dealership network spans 60+ cities. Moreover, the plan is to expand the dealership network to 100 stores in 85 cities by March 2023 end. In addition to this, there are over 40 stores that serve as exclusive Experience Centres.
2023 Chetak Premium Edition joined hands with Yulu for Last-Mile Urban Mobility Bajaj Auto Ltd. Thus, the company is also making strides in the last-mile micro-mobility sector. Given the rising demand for EVs, Bajaj is doing it all. The future is electric, and there’s no one denying that. Thus, the hour needs to develop the EV segment and make it future-ready.
