Maruti Suzuki recently launched the New-Age Baleno in the Indian market. Under the Toyota-Suzuki partnership, TKM (Toyota Kirloskar Motors) also announced that the brand will be launching the Cool-New Glanza in India. In the pre-facelift avatar, the Glanza was also based on the Maruti Suzuki Baleno with only minor revisions and mostly new badges.
2022 Toyota Glanza – Spyshots
New reports suggest that the front fascia of the cool new Glanza will be quite different from the Baleno. According to spy shots, the new Glanza will offer a different radiator grille and front bumper than the Baleno. The radiator grille on the Glanza appears to be a wide chrome band connecting the headlights. The front bumper comes with features such as black cladding that make the hatchback look aggressive. The fog light housings also come with new styling and feature a thin chrome strip giving a premium look to the car.
On the rear, the Glanza appears to be similar to the Baleno but gets a new Toyota badge. Currently, the spy shots on the interior are unavailable however, reports suggest that the Glanza is likely to come with the same interiors as the Baleno. However, we expect that there might be certain changes on the inside as well for differentiation. The brand is likely to offer a 9-inch Smartplay Pro+ infotainment system, heads-up-display, automatic climate control, 360-degree camera and more
2022 Toyota Glanza – Powertrain
Powering the Glanza is a naturally-aspirated four-cylinder 1.2-litre Advanced K-Series Dual Jet, Dual VVT petrol engine. The engine also does duty on the New-Age Baleno. The motor produces 88.5 Hp of power and 113 Nm of torque matched to a 5-speed manual transmission or an optional Automated Manual Transmission (AGS).
2022 Toyota Glanza – Launch Timeline and Price
The Toyota Glanza will make its debut in the Indian market on 15th March 2022. While the brand did not reveal the price, we speculate it could be around the INR 7 lakh ex-showroom.
