Indian automotive giant Tata Motors has announced the launch of its latest 2022 Tiago iCNG alongside the Tigor iCNG. Priced at INR 6,09,900 (ex-showroom), the 2022 Tiago iCNG promises to offer the best-in-class fuel efficiency and performance. With the new iCNG technology, Tata Motors aims to strengthen its foothold in the CNG market of India. It states that the rise in demand for economic, personal mobility and reduction of emissions are the factors behind the launch.
2022 Tata Tiago iCNG: Variant & Design Details
Tata Motors will offer the new 2022 Tiago iCNG in 5 variants – XE, XM, XT, XZ+ (ST), and XZ+ (DT). With the base XE priced at INR 6,09,900 (ex-showroom), the XM costs INR 6,39,900 (ex-showroom). The XT variant will cost INR 6,69,900 (ex-showroom), followed by the XZ+ (ST) costing INR 7,52,900 (ex-showroom). Finally, the top-spec XZ+ (DT) variant of the new Tiago iCNG will cost INR 7,64,900 (ex-showroom).
Along with a new Midnight Plum colour scheme, the new hatchback will sport a 2-year/75,000 Km warranty. The new 2022 Tiago iCNG retains the same design with updated Projector Headlamps, LED DRLs, Chrome embellishments on the exterior. Tata Motors has equipped the Tiago CNG with 14-inch steel wheels with no option for alloy wheels. The new hatchback will also sport a 35-litre petrol fuel tank and 60-litres of Water Filling capacity for CNG.
2022 Tata Tiago iCNG: Technical Details & Features
Powering the new 2022 Tiago iCNG is the BS6 compliant, 1.2-litre Revotron engine with 73 PS and 95 Nm. According to Tata Motors, the Tiago iCNG is the most powerful CNG car in its class, thanks to these performance numbers. Utilizing its New Forever philosophy, the new 2022 Tiago iCNG showcases four key pillars – Design, Performance, Safety and Technology. Tata Motors has paired the engine to a 5-speed manual gearbox with no option for an automatic transmission.
Tata Motors has equipped the hatchback with a single advanced ECU that automatically switches between petrol and CNG. With a segment-first, direct start in CNG feature, the Tiago iCNG sports faster refuelling and a digital instrument cluster. The Tiago iCNG’s interior sports a new seat fabric, a dual-tone roof, along with dual-tone black and beige interiors. Additionally, the hatchback features Rain sensing wipers, automatic headlamps, dual airbags, ABS with EBD, and Corner Stability Control.
