Maruti has updated its workhorse, the Eeco. The car now gets a new engine, new features and a revised flooring that optimises the cargo space. The Eeco now starts from INR 5,10,200 and goes up to INR 6,65,200 for the Eeco Cargo AC CNG variant. The Eeco Ambulance is priced at INR 8,13,200. All prices are ex-showroom.
The biggest change is the new 1.2-litre K-series engine. It now makes 80.76 PS @ 6,000 rpm and has a peak torque of 104.4 Nm @ 3,000 rpm when in petrol mode. When running on CNG, the same engine develops a peak power of 71.65 PS @ 6,000 rpm and a max torque of 95 Nm @ 3,000 rpm. The engine is more efficient than the earlier one. It has an ARAI rating of 20.2 km/l on petrol and 27.05 km/kg for CNG versions.
While there have been no cosmetic changes, a new Metallic Brisk Blue is offered along with the earlier existing colours of Solid White, Metallic Silky Silver, Midnight Black and Metallic Glistening Grey.
There is a now a new digital instrument cluster, an engine immobiliser and a new flat floor on the Eeco Cargo petrol. The car also gets a new steering wheel as well as new rotary controls for the AC and heater.
Other features include new dome light with battery saver, cabin air filter in AC variants, engine immobiliser, illuminated hazard switch, dual airbags, ABS with EBD, and child lock for the sliding doors and windows.
The Eeco is offered in 5 and 7-seater options. The 5-seater version gets an optional AC. The Eeco cargo comes in petrol and petrol/CNG variants with optional AC. For the fleets, Eeco is available in Tour variants as well in both 5 and 7-seater guises. Maruti also sells an Ambulance version of the Eeco.
