Maruti Suzuki has upgraded the crowd-favourite Baleno hatchback in the Indian market. The new-age Baleno, as the brand likes to call it, is now available for purchase through NEXA dealerships across the country. Maruti Suzuki also announced that enthusiasts can now reserve the new-age Baleno with an initial payment of INR 11,000 by putting down the amount at the nearest Maruti Suzuki NEXA showroom or by logging on to the Maruti Suzuki NEXA website. The Maruti Suzuki Baleno comes with a starting price tag of INR 6.35 lakh ex-showroom. The brand offers the Baleno in four variants – Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha. The Baleno also comes with two transmission options – Manual and AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) which Maruti Suzuki call AGS (Auto Gear Shift). The Sigma variants starts at INR 6.35 lakh (Manual), while the Delta comes with a price tag of INR 7.19 lakh (Manual) and INR 7.69 lakh (AGS). The Zeta is priced INR 8.09 lakh (Manual) and INR 8.59 lakh (AGS) while the Alpha comes with a sticker price of INR 8.99 lakh (Manual) and INR 9.49 lakh (AGS).
Powering the Maruti Suzuki Baleno facelift is a new Advanced K-Series Dual Jet, Dual VVT, 1.2-litre four-cylinder engine. The motor produces 88.5 Hp of power and 113 Nm of torque matched to a 5-speed manual transmission or an optional Automated Manual Transmission / Auto Gear Shift (AGS). The new Baleno also comes with Idle Start-Stop technology which takes the mileage figure to 22.35 kmpl for the manual transmission variant and 22.94 kmpl for the AGS variant.
