Lexus has unveiled the 2022 model year Lexus ES in the international market. The facelift is based on the seventh-generation Lexus ES which is the entry-level luxury sedan in the brand’s portfolio. For 2022 the Lexus ES features updates to the exterior design, new colours, style, safety and multimedia upgrades. The Lexus ES features the Global Architecture–K (GA-K) platform and is now available in the first-ever ES F SPORT variant. The brand has also announced that the Lexus ES will be available in the US later this Fall.
Lexus ES – Design & Styling
The Lexus ES features the hallmark spindle grille and sharp headlamps. The headlamps now come with newly-designed bi-LED with standard dynamic auto-levelling. This includes Intelligent High Beams that lower the beam of light when an oncoming vehicle is detected. The ES gets rounded wheel arches, a chrome window lining and a sloping roofline. The ES also features wraparound LED taillamps, a built-in spoiler and chrome trim on the lower bumper.
Features
On the inside, the Lexus ES comes with an 8.0-inch standard and 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment display. Lexus claims that the brand has given human-centered updates to the Lexus Multimedia System. The system is also available with a Navigation System. The touchscreen displays recess 4.3-inch deeper into the dashboard and comes with a remote touch interface. The 2022 Lexus ES also gets a driver-centric cockpit with all the controls within reach including a streamlined instrument panel.
Safety
The Lexus ES comes with safety features such as a Pre-Collision System. This system includes Frontal Collision Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking, Pedestrian Detection and Cyclist Detection System. The system also includes Emergency Steering Assist that enhances vehicle stability and assists the driver during an emergency evasive steering manoeuvre.
Lexus ES 300h F Sport
The ES 300h F Sport will be available in select markets and features a more dynamic exterior design. The model also comes with an exclusive ‘F Sport’ badge, mesh grille with dark surround, boot-lid spoiler and 19-inch wheels with a new Black finish. The F Sport styling also continues on the interiors, evident through the steering wheels, gear knob, pedals etc.
Colours
The 2022 Lexus ES also gets new colour options such as Iridium and Cloudburst Gray. The colour palette also includes the previous colour line – Eminent White Pearl, Matador Red Mica, Moonbeam Beige Metallic, Sunlit Green, Obsidian, Caviar, and Nightfall Mica. The F Sport also comes with an exclusive Ultra White colour.
