KTM has unveiled the new 2022 KTM RC 125 in the international market. The new motorcycle comes with an all-new design with new aerodynamics. The bike also comes with contemporary ergonomics, improved engine intakes and exhaust as well as a lighter chassis. The brand also upgraded the electronics package on the 2022 KTM RC 125, which now comes with KTM MyRide integration.
The 2022 KTM RC 125 features an all-new design that draws inspiration from the KTM RC16 MotoGP motorcycle. The new bike comes with a single headlamp cluster and a wide front fascia. The bike comes with an aerodynamic windscreen and side fairings. The side fairings also come with new air extractors that channel air hot air from the engine away from the rider. The fairing also provides wind and weather protection to the rider. The tail section on the new KTM RC 125 features a new seat that makes the tail appear sleeker than before. The bike also comes with a new rounder and fuller fuel tank as well as new design alloy wheels.
Powering the new KTM RC 125 is a 125cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled four-valve DOHC motor. The one-eight-litre engine is able to produce 15 Hp of power and 12 Nm of torque. The engine comes with a 6-speed gearbox with a mechanically operated multi-disc clutch in an oil bath. But KTM has improved the airbox volume on the new RC 125, which means improved power delivery and top speed. The motorcycle also comes with carbon-coated rocker arms and an improved cooling system to sustain high engine speeds.
The new KTM RC 125 comes with a new fairing that reduces the wind buffeting on the rider, reducing fatigue. The new aerodynamic fairing also allows the rider to tuck in improving straight-line speeds on the race track. The motorcycle now comes with adjustable clip-on handlebars, which can adjust for height as well as reach. The new larger tank also offers a better grip on the knees, and the rear-set footpegs allow the rider to go deep into the corner.
The new seat is also made of a technical material that offers grip to both the rider and pillion, and more cushion has been added for everyday riding. The bike also comes with a new TFT dashboard with KTM MyRide integration, LED headlamps, LED DRLs, integrated LED indicators, new switchgear, and supermoto ABS.
The 2022 KTM RC 125 comes with a new trellis frame with a bolt-on subframe. The new frame is 1.5 kg lighter than before and improves the stability of the motorcycle. The motorcycle rides on an open cartridge 43 mm WP Apex upside-down front suspension and a WP monoshock on the rear. The brake disc and alloy wheels are new and lighter. This reduces the rotational forces and improves agility on the motorcycle. Stopping power comes from a 320mm disc with a 4-piston Bybre stopper on the front and a 220mm disc on the rear.
Expect KTM to launch the new RC 125 in the Indian market, soon.
