2022 Kawasaki Ninja 300 Vs. KTM 390 Adventure – Price and Colours

The 2022 Kawasaki Ninja 300 comes with a sticker price of INR 3,37,000 ex-showroom. The Ninja 300 is available in three colourways – Lime Green, Candy Lime Green and Ebony. All the colourways get new graphics to increase the appeal of the bike.

On the other hand, the 2022 KTM 390 Adventure, which was recently launched gets a sticker price of INR 3,34,895. The 2022 update for the KTM also brought two new colourways for the adventure motorcycle – KTM Factory Racing Blue and Dark Galvano Black. The new visual identity thanks to the new colours, also brings it closer to the KTM’s race-winning machines around the globe.

2022 Kawasaki Ninja 300 Vs. KTM 390 Adventure – Powertrain

Powering the Kawasaki Ninja 300 is a 296cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine. For the valvetrain, it uses an 8-valve DOHC setup. Additionally, the electronic fuel injection and dual throttle valves help it produce 39 PS of peak power and 26.1 Nm of torque. The equipped transmission is a 6-speed unit with an assist and slipper clutch.

The 2022 KTM 390 Adventure uses a 373cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine. Despite being down on one cylinder, it has additional displacement over the Ninja. The 390 Adventure uses a four-valve DOHC valvetrain. The engine produces a peak power of 43.5 PS and a strong 37 Nm of torque. Like the Ninja, the KTM also uses a 6-speed transmission with an assist and slipper clutch. Additionally, the 390 Adventure also features a bi-directional quickshifter as standard.

The 2022 Kawasaki Ninja 300 uses a steel tube diamond frame and a box-section swingarm. The front suspension of the bike use 37 mm telescopic forks with 120 mm of travel. The rear suspension gets a gas-charged link-type mono-shock. It is adjustable for pre-load and offers 132 mm of travel. Braking is done by a two-piston caliper mounted on a 290 mm petal disc while the rear uses a two-piston caliper and a 220 mm petal disc. The Ninja 300 also gets ABS as standard

The KTM 390 Adventure on the other hand uses a lightweight steel trellis frame. Additionally, it also gets a bolt-on subframe. The swingarm of the adventure motorcycle uses a die-cast, open-lattice construction. The 390 Adventure uses KTM’s WP APEX suspension at both ends. In the front, it uses a 43 mm upside-down fork with 170 mm of travel. The rear uses a swingarm-mounted mono-shock with 177 mm of travel. The rear shock absorber is also adjustable for pre-load and rebound damping. For braking, the 390 Adventure uses a single 320 mm disc up front with a four-piston radially-mounted caliper. At the rear, it uses a 230 mm disc and single-piston floating caliper. Additionally, the KTM gets an advanced cornering ABS as standard.

2022 Kawasaki Ninja 300 Vs. KTM 390 Adventure – Dimensions

The Kawasaki Ninja 300 is a much smaller bike than the KTM 390 Adventure. The Ninja 300 measures 2,015 mm in length, 715 mm in width and 1,110 mm in height. The wheelbase of the Ninja 300 is 1,405 mm. The seat height is also more accessible, at 780 mm. However, it has a low ground clearance of 140 mm. The Ninja 300 tips the scales at 179 kg. The fuel tank capacity is 17-litres.

The KTM 390 Adventure is visually a much bigger motorcycle. It measures 2,154 mm in length, 900 mm in height and 1,400 mm in height. The wheelbase of the adventure motorcycle is 1,430 mm. The seat height is much higher than the Ninja 300 at 855 mm. The 390 Adventure offers 200 mm of ground clearance, more than enough to deal with Indian roads. The 390 Adventure tips the scales at 158 kg. However, it is important to note that this is the dry weight of the motorcycle. The fuel tank capacity is 14.5-litres.
