2022 Hyundai discontinues few variants of Creta temporarily

South Korean automotive manufacturer Hyundai has witnessed a successful opening to the year with its product portfolio in the Indian market. However, enthusiasts uncovered a leaked document that suggests that Hyundai has decided to halt the bookings of the Creta and Venue. More specifically, the automaker has temporarily suspended the bookings of the Creta Diesel SX AT variant across the country. Additionally, Hyundai has paused the Venue Petrol’s S(O) IMT, SX(O) IMT, SX(O), and IMT Dual Tone variants.

This also includes the temporary discontinuation of the Venue Diesel’s SX(O) and SX(O) Dual Tone variants as well. Sources suggest that Hyundai has asked its dealers to recommend alternative variants of the Creta and Venue, based on stocks/allocations. These decisions may have come in response to the ongoing supply chain issues caused by the global semiconductor chip shortage. During the festive season of 2021, customers witnessed an 8-month waiting period on the Creta SX(O) Diesel AT variant.
