Honda has pulled the covers off the all-new Honda Civic Hatchback in the international market. European Sportback inspires the new Civic hatchback. Underpinning the 2022 Civic hatchback is the recently unveiled Honda Civic Sedan and the latest addition to the 11th generation Civic family. Honda will manufacture the Civic hatchback at Honda’s Greensburg, Indiana auto plant for the North American market. Honda is targeting the young, active buyers with the new hatchback.
2022 Honda Civic Hatchback – Engine Specifications
In the United States, the Honda Civic Sedan will come with a naturally aspirated 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine. The engine produces 158 Hp of power and 187 Nm of torque. The engine comes with a 6-speed manual transmission as well as a CVT automatic gearbox. Honda also offers a 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol motor that makes 180 Hp of power and 240 Nm of torque. The brand also claims that the Civic hatchback comes with improved turbo plumbing and Honda’s Variable Timing and lift Electronic Control (VTEC) technology.
2022 Honda Civic Hatchback – Design Highlights
The 2022 Honda Civic hatchback comes with a sporty exterior design. The car features a low hood sporty fenders and a horizontal beltline. The hatch also gets a distinctive grille mesh with a slightly concave shape and an airy glasshouse. The Civic also features a new lightweight composite hatch which allows for a progressive, sleeker roofline and roof height reduction by 50mm. The hinge mechanism also opens outwards and enables a reduction of height in the hinge area. The car also gets a unique taillight design that spans the vehicle’s entire width, emphasising the hatchback’s wide rear track.

The Honda Civic Hatchback comes with a human-centred cabin design. The car comes with a simple, clean and uncluttered design theme with intuitive ergonomics and exceptional visibility. The brand also offers a flattened dashboard, pulled back A-pillars, and repositioned ORVMs, adding to the outward visibility.
2022 Honda Civic Hatchback – Top Features
The Civic gets features such as a new 7-inch colour LCD instrument display with analogue metres and a new 10.2-inch all-digital LCD instrument display with full-colour high-definition instruments, depending on the model. The car also comes with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Also available as an option is a 9-inch display with wireless smartphone charging and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The car also gets a premium audio system from Bose.
2022 Honda Civic Hatchback – Safety
In addition to this, the Civic also gets a plethora of active and passive safety systems. These include Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), Low-Speed Braking Control, front and rear false-start prevention with the addition of eight sonar sensors, Traffic Jam Assist, multiple airbags etc.
