Honda has not yet revealed the price of the City Hybrid, but the bookings for the City e:HEV are now open. Customers can book the 2022 Honda City e:HEV at all Honda Cars dealerships across the country, as well as the brand’s online sales channels. In this video review, we bring you all the details of the Honda City e:HEV so that it helps you can make an informed buying decision.
Powering the new Honda City e:HEV is the 1.5-litre Atkinson Cycle I-VTEC DOHC engine. The petrol engine is coupled to a self-charging and highly efficient Two Motor e-CVT Hybrid system. The Intelligent Power Unit (IPU) draws power from a Lithium-Ion battery pack. The battery pack is able to power the City Hybrid at slow speeds on electric-only power. The IPU produces a combined output of 126 PS of power and 253 Nm of torque matched to an engine-linked direct coupling clutch. Honda claims that the hybrid powertrain is capable of returning a fuel efficiency of 26.5 km/litre.
The Honda City e:HEV comes with three driving modes – EV Drive, Hybrid Drive and Engine Drive. The electric-hybrid system integrates a Regeneration Mode during deceleration to recuperate energy and store it in the on-board battery pack. In addition to this, the Intelligent Power Unit is also capable of seamless and automatic switching between the three modes based on various driving situations. Thanks to the self-charging system, users need not charge the battery externally, offering a balance between petrol performance, battery efficiency and benefits of a cleaner eco-friendlier electric powertrain.
The 2022 Honda City e:HEV also comes with the latest Honda Sensing technology. Honda Sensing offers ADAS (Advanced Drivers Assistance System). The ADAS offers Adaptive Cruise Control, Road Departure Mitigation (RDM), Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), Auto High-Beam, and Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS).
Honda also offers safety features such as all four-wheel disc brakes with an advanced Electric Servo Brake. The car also gets six airbags, Vehicle Stability Assist with Agile Handling Assist, Honda Lane-Watch, Multi-angle Rearview Camera, Hill Start Assist, ISOFIX seat anchorages and Tyre Pressure Monitoring System with Deflation Warning.
The Honda City e:HEV comes with features such as a Blue H-mark logo on the solid wing face chrome grille. The sedan also comes with full-LED headlights with a 9-array inline shell and integrated LED DRLs. The City e:HEV also gets a lip spoiler and bumper diffuser with a carbon finish. On the inside, the car comes with a 7-inch HD instrument cluster and an 8-inch infotainment system.
Furthermore, the infotainment system also offers features such as NextGen Honda Connect with Telematics Control Unit (TCU). The car also comes with Ivory & Black two-tone colour coordinated interiors for a premium look and feel. Honda is offering a 3-year unlimited kilometres standard warranty. In addition to this, the brand also offers an 8-year or 1,60,000 km warranty on the lithium-ion battery.
