The American two-wheeler manufacturer Harley-Davidson has revealed its 2022 lineup of motorcycles across various segments for the global market. One of the bikes which the brand has introduced is the 2022 Street Glide Special, Grand American Tourer. Harley-Davidson states that all its 2022 lineup, along with the Street Glide Special, will arrive at authorized dealerships globally.
Harley-Davidson also stated that it would introduce motorcycles built by its Custom Vehicle Operations and others in the coming weeks. The brand will launch the upcoming motorcycles via their “Further. Faster.” World Premiere Event on January 26th, 2022. Harley-Davidson has also ensured to update its India website with details of the upcoming Street Glide Special, signalling its arrival.
2022 Harley-Davidson Street Glide Special: Design Details
The 2022 Street Glide Special is Harley-Davidson’s original factory custom bagger, which offers highway-shredding power in black or chrome finishes. The brand offers a total of 5 colour options, each for the Black trim and the Chrome trim, respectively. These include Vivid Black, Black Denim, Gunship Grey, White Sand Pearl, and a Midnight Crismon exterior with Vivid Black inserts.
However, Harley-Davidson offers an exclusive Redline red colour scheme for the Black trim of the 2022 Street Glide Special. The chrome-finish trim gets a combination of chrome and steel across the powertrain, wheels, exhaust tips, and front forks. Meanwhile, the Black trim gets matt black wheels, exhaust tips, powertrain elements, front forks, and the fuel tank console. Additionally, the 2022 Street Glide Special sports Stretched Saddlebags, a bright white Daymaker LED headlamp and a protective front cowl.
2022 Harley-Davidson Street Glide Special: Technical Specs & Features
Powering the 2022 Street Glide Special is the signature 1,868cc Milwaukee-Eight 114 motor with Electronic Sequential Port Fuel Injection. The four-valve engine produces 97 PS and 160 Nm via a 6-speed manual transmission with a 10-plate wet, assist clutch. The 2022 Street Glide Special sports 690mm of seat height, 125mm of ground clearance, and a 22.7-litre fuel tank.
The bike also features 49mm, dual front forks with 117mm of travel, and an adjustable monoshock with 54mm of travel. Sporting 19-inch front wheels and 18-inch at the rear, the bike also gets dual, 300mm front disc brakes. Meanwhile, the Street Glide Special features a single 300mm rear disc brake and mild steel, tubular frame chassis. Harley-Davidson has equipped the bike with a ‘Boom! Box Gts’ touchscreen infotainment system with GPS and phone connectivity via Bluetooth.
