Honda India has launched the 2022 Gold Wing Tour in India. The touring motorcycle will make its way into the market as a Completely Built Unit (CBU) from Japan. The top-of-the-Honda-line bike will be available at all exclusive BigWing Topline dealerships in Gurugram (Haryana), Mumbai (Maharashtra), Bengaluru (Karnataka), Indore (Madhya Pradesh), Kochi (Kerala), Chennai (Tamil Nadu) and Hyderabad (Telangana). Interested customers can now book the bike online through Honda’s official website or visit the above dealerships.
For 2022 the Gold Wing Tour will be available in only one variant – Dual Clutch Transmission with Airbag. The motorcycle also comes in just one colour – Gunmetal Black Metallic. In addition to this, it also features a complete blacked out engine design. The Gold Wing Tour (DCT) with Airbag comes with a sticker price of INR 39,20,000 ex-showroom.
The Gold Wing uses a 1833cc liquid-cooled flat-six cylinder engine. It features a Single Overhead Camshaft and a 24-valve valvetrain. The engine produces 126 PS of maximum power and a colossal 170 Nm of torque at just 4,500rpm.
The rider can alter the character and power delivery of the bike using the available rider modes, thanks to the Throttle By Wire (TBW). There are four rider modes available – Tour, Sport, Econ and Rain. The rider modes directly link to the suspension damping and the Dual Combined Brake System (D-CBS).
Honda’s Dual Clutch Transmission technology delivers consistent and seamless gearshifts. The clutch feel, shift speed, and the rev range for up and downshifts adjust according to the rider mode selected. The gearbox also features a forward and reverse creep function.
The touring motorcycle gets a step-less angle and height-adjustable electric windscreen to protect the rider from the wind blast. The instrument cluster receives a 7-inch full-colour TFT LCD with eight brightness levels. It also brings modern-day connectivity with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Additionally, it also gets Bluetooth and two USB Type-C ports. Music output comes through the lightweight speakers, and the passenger receives audio controls to control the volume, switch the source or fast-forward the track.
To help in low-grip situations, it also gets the Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC). The system seamlessly monitors and maintains rear-wheel grip traction to add an extra layer of safety. Additionally, the bike features a Hill Start Assist (HSA) to help start on inclines without the motorcycle rolling back.
