Ducati has introduced the 2022 new Hypermotard in the international market. The motorcycle comes with a new Euro5 spec powertrain which retains the performance figures from the predecessor. The brand will be offering the Hypermotard in three variants in the international market. The 2022 range includes Ducati Hypermotard 950, Hypermotard 950 RVE and Hypermotard 950 SP. The SP edition is the latest inclusion in the Hypermotard family, and the motorcycles will be available from June 2021 in the international market.
The Ducati Hypermotard 950 features the hallmark supermoto design language from the Italian brand. The Hypermotard 950 features a sharp beak on the front and a sleek front fascia. The motorcycle features a multifaceted reflector headlamp flanked by LED daytime running lights and an integrated flyscreen. The motard-inspired bike features a slim seat, a thin fuel tank and long tank extensions. The Hypermotard also comes with a double exhaust under the seat, giving it a sleek look from behind. The new SP livery also evokes “freestyle sports” through the choice of colours and graphics.
The Ducati Hypermotard features a trellis mainframe and subframe along with reduced superstructures. This enables a stiff but light structure. The ergonomics of the motorcycle also allow the rider to maintain an erect riding position with wide elbows. This riding position allows maximum levels of reaction and control in varied conditions. The RVE and SP versions also come with a flat seat similar to a professional motard style. This enables the rider to move back and forth on the seat while riding.
Powering the Hypermotard is a 937cc Testastretta 11-degree Ducati L-Twin engine. The engine produces 114 hp at 9,000 rpm and 96 Nm of torque at 7,250 rpm. The brand boasts that the power and torque values remain unchanged with the transition to Euro5 type approval. The Ducati Hypermotard also features a trellis mainframe and subframe along with reduced superstructures. This enables a stiff but light structure and the high-specification upside-down suspension and Brembo brakes further enhance control.
The Ducati Hypermotard also comes with 17-inch 3-spoke Y-shaped aluminium rims shod in Pirelli Diablo Rosso III tyres. The motorcycle also comes with a plethora of electronic features such as a 6-Axis Inertial Measurement Unit (6D IMU), Ducati Traction Control EVO, Ducati Wheelie Control EVO, Bosch Cornering ABS and Ducati Multimedia System.
While the launch timeline for India is currently unknown, Ducati is likely to announce the launch of the Hypermotard for the Indian market soon. The brand also recently launched the Streetfighter V4 in India starting at INR 19.99 lakh ex-showroom.
