2022 Buell Hammerhead 1190 sportsbike revealed

“Buell is Back!” American motorcycle brand Erik Buell Racing has unveiled a new super sports bike in the USA, marking its return to the motorcycle world. The new motorcycle, Hammerhead 1190RX, promises to restore Buell’s presence as a renowned American brand in the international market. The Buell Hammerhead 1190RX Buell will mark its position alongside the Harley-Davidson and Indian Motorcycle brands in the North American market.

Buell Hammerhead 1190RX – Design Highlights

The Buell Hammerhead comes with a futuristic design with a rakish front end, reverberating with the high tail low nose design philosophy. The rakish nose features a single headlight and an aerodynamic design. The motorcycle comes with shark-gill-like side panels that help extract hot air from the engine and improve airflow around the bike. The bike also features a sharp tail section with sporty seats for the rider and the pillion. The new Hammerhead is designed in collaboration with famous Buell designer Ryan Hahn.

Buell Hammerhead 1190RX – Engine Specifications

Powering the Buell Hammerhead 1190RX is an ET-V2 1190cc (72.6 cu in) 72-degree V-twin, liquid-cooled, four-stroke engine. The engine features an Electronic Fuel injection with 2 port injectors & 2 showerhead injectors. This helps produce 185 Hp of power and 137.8 Nm of torque. The engine comes with a 6-speed gearbox matched to hydraulic actuation and a vacuum-operated slipper clutch. The Buell Hammerhead tips the scales at 190 kg Wet (without fuel).

Buell Hammerhead 1190RX – Mechanical Features

The Buell Hammerhead 1190RX features a perimeter frame with an exposed trellis subframe. The bike also comes with a Showa upside-down front fork suspension and a Showa monoshock on the rear. The Aluminum frame features an integral fuel reservoir, and the swingarm has been optimized for stiffness. While the motorcycle is new, its underpinnings appear similar to the 2014 EBR 1190RX. Braking power comes from a 386mm single perimeter rotor with 8-piston inside-out calliper on the front and a 220mm single disc on the rear.

Buell will offer the Hammerhead with Heritage Colors or Naked Carbon Fiber.
