BMW has revealed the new 2021 facelift for the BMW X3 Sports Activity Vehicle. Along with the X3, the brand also introduced the recent facelift of the BMW X4 Sports Activity Coupe. Both models come with refreshed exteriors improved equipment. The variant structure is also refined for its customers.
The BMW X3 facelift comes with features such as a revised front and rear section. The new changes emphasize the robust off-road look as well as the sporty appearance of the SUV. The third-generation facelift model features classic X elements. The car features a new BMW kidney grille and headlights. The SUV also gets a new front and rear apron as well as new graphics on the taillamps. The brand also provides X elements such as underbody protection and X specific side skirts.
The BMW X4 also features redesigned front and rear apron and a new mesh kidney grille. The X4 features adaptive LED headlights with Matrix function as standard, while the BMW Laser Light is an option. The Coupe-SUV gets flat full-LED rear lights that protrude from the vehicle’s body in a three-dimensional design. The new apron also comes with a minimalist appearance and features a large proportion of painted surface and vertical reflectors.
The BMW X3 will be available in the X3 M40i and X3 M40d performance variants. The brand will also offer an M sports package with specific exterior details. The X3 in the sportier orientation comes with an M specific front apron with larger air inlets and inserts finished in high-gloss black. The M model also comes with Dark Shadow rear diffuser air-curtain panels in high-gloss black and 19-inch Y‑Spoke 887M alloy wheel in Midnight Grey Bicolor. The wheels can be upgraded to 20/21 inches and come with an M sports brake with blue or red brake callipers.
The BMW X3 and X4 come with updated interior features such as BMW Live Cockpit Plus as standard. The cars also get a 10.25-inch display as standard with BMW Operating System 7. The BMW Live Cockpit Plus includes the iDrive operating system with a Control Display. The SUVs also employ a 12.3-inch high-resolution instrument cluster. Also on offer are a new generation of navigation with BMW Maps, smartphone connectivity and integration of 3rd party services, enhanced functionality for the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant, remote Software Upgrade updates “over-the-air” and Driving Assistant Professional available for the first time.
The new BMW X3 and the new BMW X4 now come with modern hybrid technology. The brand reveals that all four-cylinder and six-cylinder engines in the two model series now use 48-volt mild-hybrid technology. The line-up gets a new 48-volt starter-generator that supplies an additional electric boost of 8 kW/11 Hp of power.
The BMW X3 xDrive20d and BMW X4 xDrive20d come with a 190 Hp engine. The X3 xDrive30d and the X4 xDrive30d come with a 286 Hp engine. The BMW X3 M40d and BMW X4 M40d feature a 340 Hp engine. The BMW X3 xDrive20i and BMW X4 xDrive20i comes with a 184 Hp engine. The X3 xDrive30i and X4 xDrive30i come with a 245 Hp engine, and the BMW X3 M40i and BMW X4 M40i feature a 360 Hp powertrain. The brand also offers the BMW X3 xDrive30e plug-in hybrid model with a range of 50 km on a single charge and a 292 Hp four-cylinder engine with 41 Hp electric motor output.
