German luxury car manufacturer, Audi, has just launched its flagship sedan, the new A8 L, in the Indian market. The pricing for the new A8 L starts from INR 1,29,00,000 ex-showroom. For the 2022 model year, the A8 L receives a refreshed exterior styling and changes to the interior. Being an Audi, it is loaded with a host of features, including Digital Matrix LED headlights. These lights are also able to project animations.
The new Audi A8 L will be available in India in two variants. These are – Celebration Edition and Technology. The Audi A8 L Celebration Edition costs INR 1,29,00,000 ex-showroom. On the other hand, the other variant, A8 L Technology, costs INR 1,57,00,000 ex-showroom. Both the versions are the Long-Wheelbase variants of the Audi A8. The Celebration Edition is available as a 5-seater only, while the Technology is also available as a 4-seater.
The new A8 L will be available in 8 exterior colour finishes. These are – District Green Metallic, Firmament Blue Metallic, Vesuvius Gray Metallic, Terra Gray Metallic, Mythos Black Metallic, Manhattan Gray Metallic, Floret Silver Metallic & Glacier White Metallic. Furthermore, there are also 4 interior colours to choose from. Thanks to Audi Exclusive Customization, buyers also get 55 exterior colours, 8 interior colours and 7 wooden inlays.
The first thing you notice about the new A8 L will be the wider and sportier single-frame front grille. The grille also features chrome angles and detailing, lending it the right amount of flash. Flanking the grille are the Digital Matrix LED headlights. They feature an illuminated Audi logo, and users can also select an animation for entry/exit.
Moving to the side, you see the sheer length of the car. The A8 L is a big car, and the clean and simple lines do little to hide its bulk. It also features new dual-tone 19-inch alloy wheels with a turbine design and graphite grey finish. At the back, you get OLED taillights. These lights also have unique light signatures. The OLED taillights feature proximity lighting, and its lighting pattern adapts to Dynamic Mode.
The interiors of the Valcona leather upholstery which is available in 4 colour options. These options are – Mother of Pearl Beige, Cognac Brown, Sard Brown and Black. The front and rear seats of the A8 L get 8 massage functions and 3 intensity levels. If massage seats are not your thing and you like soothing music instead, the A8 L has you covered. The flagship sedan comes with a 23-speaker Bang & Olufsen Advanced Sound System.
A 4-zone air-conditioning with ionizer and aromatization ensures the cabin is fresh at all times. There are also 30 colours for the ambient lighting. Additionally, users can also opt for the rear seat executive package. The rear seat executive package includes –
The A8 L will get only one petrol engine option in India. It will use Audi’s 3.0-litre TFSI engine with a 48V mild-hybrid technology. The engine produces peak power of 340 HP and peak torque of 500 Nm. The A8 L sends power to all four wheels via Audi’s legendary Quattro all-wheel-drive. This helps the sedan accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 5.7 seconds.
Furthermore, it also gets Predictive Active Suspension. The system detects road undulations using the front camera. It then adjusts the suspension for a more comfortable drive. The A8 L also features an elevated entry function. The function raises the car by 50 mm when you open the doors. Thus, allowing for an easier entry and exit. Another highlight is the curve tilting function. It is a part of the Comfort Plus mode. The function prevents the car from leaning into corners for better ride comfort.
