2021 Yamaha YZF-R3 revealed in new colours, India hasn’t received the BS6 model yet

Yamaha has introduced the 2021 Yamaha YZF-R3 in Japan which undergoes minor changes in the fascia and gets new colour for the new year. The 2021 Yamaha YZF-R3 is ready for its market launch on 15th January 2021 and the motorcycle will be priced JPY 687,500 MSRP which roughly converts to INR 4.90 lakh. 

For 2021, the brand has introduced a new Cyan metallic paint theme which comes with new body graphics. The brand has also equipped the 2021 model with new radial tyres and a new heel plate. The new Cyan colour appears Neo-Dynamic Sporty with all the body parts painted in the new blue along with body graphics in black a silver. The bran has also incorporated the Vermillion shade of the MT series in the alloy wheels and graphics. 

Apart from the new Cyan metallic, the YZF-R3 is also available in Matte Dark Gray Metallic which is very close to a matte black shape and gives the motorcycle a sporty appearance. Also available for 2021 is a Deep Purplish Blue Metallic with the classic Yamaha YZF-R1 theme blue on the body with the tail cowling and front fender painted in Silver. 

The 2021 Yamaha YZF-R3 features twin split LED headlights with a central ram-air duct that maximises cooling performance for the engine, a racing-style windscreen, low-profile fuel tank design, a compact handlebar positioning, an aerodynamic fairing, high-mounted tail, LED taillamps, side slung exhaust and a multi-function fully digital instrument screen that shows information such as gear position, fuel capacity, real-time and average fuel economy, water temp, clock etc. 

The 2021 Yamaha YZF-R3 is powered by a new 320cc inline twin-cylinder liquid-cooled, 8 valves DOHC engine with fuel injection technology that produces 42 PS of power and 29 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed gearbox. The new-generation engine features Yamaha’s unique DiASil technology, a high-silicon aluminium alloy-engine block, a 180-degree crank design and integrated counterbalancer and Forged aluminium pistons. 

The Yamaha YZF-R3 was available in the Indian market in the BS4 era but the motorcycle was not brought in the BS6 compliant form. Yamaha is expected to bring the new 2021 Model Year with the updated design and engine to the Indian market in the near future.
