2021 Yamaha FZ & FZ-S becomes lighter, priced at INR 1.04 lakh

Yamaha India has launched the new MY 2021 Yamaha FZ and Yamaha FZ-S in the Indian market priced starting at INR 1.04 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi for the FZ FI and INR 1.07 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi for the FZ-S FI. The Yamaha FZ series in the MY2021 avatar has become lighter and now come with new colour options, a Side stand engine cutoff switch for added safety and Bluetooth-enabled ‘Yamaha Motorcycle Connect X’. 

Colour Options

The new 2021 Yamaha FZ FI now comes with two colour options – Racing Blue and Metallic Black while the Yamaha FZ-S FI is offered in five colour options which now includes a new colour called – Matte Red adding to the range of Dark matte blue, Matte Black, Dark Knight & Vintage Edition paint options that were already on sale since the motorcycle was updated to BS6 standards. 

Weight Reduction

The brand also claims that the motorcycle is now lighter by 2 whole kilograms. The naked roadster used to tip the scales at 137 kgs which have now been reduced to 135 kgs. The newly lightened motorcycle has also become more agile and is more comfortable to handle which will give riders better manoeuvrability. The reduction in weight is the result of new lightweight body panels applied to the new motorcycle. 

Features

Both the FZ FI and FZ-S FI features LED headlight, split seats, a wide 140mm rear radial tyre and a single-channel ABS. The FZ FI and FZ-S FI are powered by a BS6 emission-compliant 149cc air-cooled four-stroke two-valve SOHC motor that makes 12.4 PS of power and 13.6 Nm of torque matched to a 5-speed gearbox. The MY2021 also features a newly tuned exhaust system that produces a better sound and a Side Stand Engine Cutoff Switch that improves the safety quotient of the rider. 

The 2021 Yamaha FZ-S FI model also feature Yamaha Motorcycle Connect X for smartphone connectivity through Bluetooth technology that comes with features such as Answer back, E-lock, Locate my bike, Hazard, etc. The MY2021 FZ-S FI has also been updated with a new 3D emblem which makes the motorcycle more stylish than before.
