Triumph has launched the Trident 660 in India priced at INR 6.95 lakh ex-showroom. The iconic British brand positions the three-cylinder naked roadster in the premium middleweight segment expanding Triumph’s Roadster portfolio which also includes the Street Triple R, Street Triple RS and the Speed Triple 1200RS. The brand also reveals that the Trident 660 accumulated more than 125 bookings even before its price reveal. Furthermore, with the low introductory price combined with an easy EMI option of INR 9999 and low cost of ownership, the brand expects to quickly gain momentum in terms of sales.
Powering the Triumph Trident 660 is the hallmark Triumph Triple engine with 660cc of displacement, three-cylinder in-line 12-valve DOHC engine architecture, liquid-cooling and electronic fuel injection. The engine produces 81 PS of power and 64 Nm of torque and comes with a 6-speed gearbox with Assist & Slipper clutch. The Trident 660 also features a stainless steel 3 into 1 header system with low single sided stainless steel silencer for a unique Triple sound.
The Triumph Trident 660 comes with a tubular steel perimeter frame that rides on 41mm Showa ‘separate function forks’ (SFF) on the front and a preload-adjustable Showa monoshock on the rear mounted on a twin-sided fabricated steel swingarm. Braking power comes from a twin 310mm disc on the front and a 255mm single disc on the rear with Nissin hydraulic brake callipers equipped with a dual-channel ABS. The Trident 660 features all-LED lighting, all-new multi-functional instruments with colour TFT display, turn-by-turn navigation, switch cube GoPro control, “My Triumph” Connectivity System as an accessory, Road and Rain riding modes, switchable traction control integrated into the riding modes, electronic throttle control etc.
The Triumph Trident 660 features a total of four colour options – Silver Ice and Diablo Red which comes with a Triumph logo graphic on the tank, Matte Jet Black & Matte Silver Ice with a bold Triumph logo tank graphic, Crystal White with Diablo Red lines and Jet Black decals and Black Sapphire with Diablo Red and Aluminium Silver decals.
The Triumph Trident comes with a 2-year unlimited mileage warranty and class-leading 16,000 km service interval. Triumph will also be offering more than 45 accessories for riders to customize their Trident.
