Toyota is planning to bring the mid-cycle update for the much-popular Innova Crysta MPV marketed as the Kijang Innova in the Indonesian market. Now, brochures of the 2021 facelift Innova Crysta and the 2021 Innova Crysta Touring Sport have been leaked revealing key details on the popular MPV. Earlier the Innova Crysta was also spotted undisguised testing in the Indonesian market.
According to the leaked brochure, the new Innova Crysta facelift features a redesigned front fascia that comes with a new grille, new headlamp inserts, a new bumper, new fog lamps, but the tail lamps remain largely unchanged. The leaked brochure also reveals that the MPV rides on 16-inch alloy wheels with a new design. The Innova Crysta Touring Sport is likely to come with 17-inch alloy wheels, LED fog lights and rear spoiler.
On the inside, the new facelift model is likely to feature captain seats, ambient lighting, a new air purifier, rear seat entertainment system, a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a rear view camera etc. Earlier spy pictures also reveal that the dashboard design and the most of the interiors remain unchanged. The facelift Innova Crysta is also likely to come with Vehicle Stability Control, Hill Assist Control, dual airbags, curtain airbags, knee airbags, and side airbags.
In the engine department, the facelift model is likely to be powered by a 2.0-litre petrol or a 2.4-litre diesel powertrains in the Indonesian market and no major update is expected. In the Indian market, TKM recently updated the Toyota Innova Crysta to BS6 standards. The Innova Crysta in India is powered by a 2.4-litre four-cylinder Common Rail Turbocharged 16 Valve, DOHC motor that produces 150 PS of power and 343 Nm of torque matched to a 5-speed manual gearbox and 360 Nm of torque with the 6-speed sequential-shift automatic transmission. In the petrol avatar the Innova Crysta in India comes with a 2.7-litre four-cylinder 16-valve DOHC Dual VVT petrol engine that produces 166 PS of power and 245 Nm of torque matched to a 5-speed manual and an optional 6-speed sequential-shift automatic gearbox.
