2021 Tata Safari SUV bookings open for INR 30,000, launch on 22nd February

Tata Motors has commenced pre-launch bookings on the all-new Safari in the Indian market. Customers can now visit Tata Motors’ online sales channel by login on their website or walk into the nearest showroom to book the 2021 Tata Safari by putting down an amount of INR 30,000. Furthermore, the brand has also announced that the Tata Safari will be launched on 22nd February 2021 when its ex-showroom price will be announced and deliveries are also expected to begin following its launch.

The 2021 Tata Safari will be offered in 6 variants – XE, XM/XMA, XT, XT+, XZ/XZA and XZ+/XZA+. The Safari is offered with both manual and automatic gearbox options and comes powered by a single oil burner option. The Kryotec 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine produces 170 PS of power and 350 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed manual or an option 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.

The Tata Safari is based on the Land Rover D8 derived OMEGARC (Optimal Modular Efficient Global Advanced Architecture) platform and features the brand’s IMPACT 2.0 design language. The same design language and platform also underpins the Tata Harrier SUV and it can be said that the Safari is a larger version of the Harrier SUV. But the Safari comes with its own unique styling features to distinguish itself from the Harrier.

Though both the vehicles look similar from the front, the rear is a completely different story. The Safari measures 63mm longer than the Harrier and the brand has completely redesigned the haunch. The Safari features a new tailgate, new taillights, new rear bumper and new rear three-quarters with a large side window to allow more light inside the 3rd row. The Safari features 3-row seatings and comes with both captain middle-row seats (6-seater) and bench middle-row seats (7-seater) options. The SUV is also offered with a large panoramic sunroof on select trims.

The Safari comes equipped with LED DRLs, projector HID headlamps, LED tail lamps, 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, 8.8-inch infotainment with IRA connected features, 9-speaker JBL sound system, mood lighting, Oyster White upholstery, premium Ashwood finished dashboard with soft-touch top, 7-inch digital instruments with an analogue speedometer as well as a plethora of active and passive safety features available right from the base trim.
