Tata Motors has revealed the new Tata Punch SUV in the Indian market. The company boasts that the much-awaited Tata Punch offers the agility of a hatch with the DNA of an SUV. The Tata Punch SUV also claims to come with spirited performance, class-leading comfort and complete safety. The brand will also offer the Punch with an advanced infotainment system and rich connectivity features. Consequently, the brand has expanded its popular ‘New Forever’ range with India’s first sub-compact SUV.
The Tata Punch SUV is now open for bookings at all Tata Motors dealerships in the Indian market. Customers can now book the Punch by putting down an amount of INR 21,000. Tata is offering four variants of the Tata Punch SUV – Pure, Adventure, Accomplished and Creative. The brand will be offering the Tata Punch in both Manual Transmission and Automatic Transmission gearbox options on a naturally-aspirated petrol engine. Tata also revealed that the brand will offer the Punch with 7 colour options as well as Rhythm and Dazzle customization packs.
Tata has not completely revealed the full engine specifications of the Tata Punch SUV. However, the brand revealed that the Punch SUV will come with a 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine. The BS6 compliant Revotron engine will come with the brand’s latest Dyna-Pro technology. The technology features a ram-air intake system that helps the vehicle breathe better improving its performance and efficiency.
The ‘Punchy’ engine comes paired to an Advanced 5-speed AMT with an industry-first ‘Traction Pro’ system. The engine also comes with a 5-speed manual transmission. The SUV also comes with Engine Drive Modes – City & Eco. Also, to enhance fuel-efficiency Tata offers an Idle Start-Stop system on the Punch. The Punch also comes with Cruise Control. The Tata Punch also offers a high ground clearance of 190mm, 20.3°approach angle, 37.6° departure angle and 22.2° ramp over angle. The Punch is also capable of wading through 370mm of water, 70mm more than other cars in the segment.
The Tata Motors Punch SUV comes with Dual Airbags, ABS with EBD and Corner Safety Control. The Punch also comes with a segment-first – Brake Sway Control. The SUV also features extensive use of High Strength Steel and Tyre Puncture Repair Kit. The car also comes with Child Seat ISOFIX Anchor Points, Reverse Parking Camera, Parametric Alarm System and seat belt reminders.
The Tata Punch will come loaded with features such as a 7-inch Harman infotainment system with Android Auto & Apple Carplay. The car also comes with iRA Connected Car Technology with What3Words & Natural Voice tech. The Punch gets a 7-inch TFT instruments cluster, Push Button Start, Auto Headlamps and Rain Sensing Wipers. Other features include a large 366-litres boot space, Cooled Glove Box and a Fast USB Charger. The Tata Punch comes with LED DRLs, projector headlamps, LED taillamps and side cladding reiterating its SUV status. The Punch also comes with the signature 90-degree opening doors – for easy ingress-egress.
