2021 Tata HBX will get touchscreen & speedometer like Altroz

Tata is getting ready to launch a new micro-SUV in the Indian market, the Tata HBX (Codename). The Micro-SUV is undergoing road tests in India and images of the car have emerged on the internet. But this time, the images appear to be of the top-of-the-line variant. The Tata HBX comes with interior features similar to the model showcased at the Auto Expo 2020.

Tata HBX Interior Spyshots

According to the spy shots, the HBX comes with a floating island touchscreen infotainment system similar to the one on the Tata Altroz. Images also reveal a semi-digital instruments cluster featuring a large colour multi-information display on the left and an analogue speedometer on the right. The HBX also comes with a multifunction steering wheel. Though it is not clear in the pictures, it is safe to assume that the top-spec model will get a flat-bottomed steering wheel.

The Dashboard fascia appears upright, echoing with the micro-‘SUV’ status of the vehicle. The central console features a typical gear knob, a cubby hole, USB charging point, AUX-IN and a 12V DC socket. The HBX also comes with automatic climate control air-conditioning. The control panel appears similar to the one showcased at the Auto Expo 2020. Additionally, the HBX will also come with cruise control, automatic headlamps and a push-button start/stop.

Tata HBX Exteriors

The Tata HBX will underpin the ALFA (Agile Light Flexible Advanced) platform which made its debut with the Altroz hot hatchback. The brand at the Auto Expo showcased the HBX revealing the split headlamp setup and the ‘Humanity Line’ grille which is similar to the Tata Harrier and Tata Safari SUV. The HBX concept measures 3,840 mm in length, 1,822 mm in width, 1,635 mm in height.

Tata HBX Engine options

Powering the HBX will be a naturally-aspirated 1.2-litre petrol engine. This motor is likely to deliver 86 Hp of power. The brand is likely to offer a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) gearbox.
