The all-new Suzuki GSX-S1000 has made its debut in the international market. The brand has completely revamped the 2021 GSX-S1000 in terms of design, features and engine. The new streetfighter features an advanced electronics package as well as a new Euro5 compliant litre-class engine. The brand has also announced that the streetfighter will be sold in the international markets with deliveries beginning from June 2021 in Europe.
Powering the GSX-S1000 is a new Euro5 compliant 999cc inline four-cylinder motor. The four-stroke DOHC fuel injection engine produces 150 Hp of power and 106 Nm of torque. The motor comes paired to a 6-speed gearbox with a bi-directional quickshifter. The engine now comes with a new intake and exhaust mechanism and electronic throttle control. The engine also features new valve springs, re-profiled camshafts and a new catalytic converter system. The result is an increased top-end output, despite the suffocating Euro5 emission requirements.
The 2021 Suzuki GSX-S1000 comes with a newly installed S.I.R.S. (Suzuki Intelligent Ride System), an intelligent electronic control system. The GSX-S1000 also comes with a Suzuki Drive Mode Selector (SDMS) that offers three distinct riding modes, an updated Suzuki Traction Control System (STCS) that now comes with 5-mode settings and a Bi-directional Quick Shift System that gives the rider option of clutchless up/downshifting.
The Suzuki GSX-S1000 features a vertically stacked pair of mono-focus type LED headlights giving it an aggressive front fascia. The bodywork is sharp and aggressive and the motorcycle comes with a muscular fuel tank. The GSX-S1000 also gets a tapered handlebar with a 23mm wider grip and a comfortable rider’s triangle. The tank sides also offer a slim knee recess area to grip the motorcycle while cornering. The tail is also sleek and features an LED taillight unit.
The 2021 Suzuki GSX-S1000 features a twin-spar aluminium frame that offers optimised agility, nimble handling and road-holding ability. The motorcycle rides on 43mm KYB inverted front forks with 120mm of travel and a link-type rear suspension with adjustable rebound damping and spring preload with 130mm of travel. The motorcycle features 17-inch alloy wheels shod in Dunlop’s SPORTMAX Roadsport 2 radial tyres, custom-engineered to perform optimally on the GSX-S1000.
