Royal Enfield is upgrading its bread and butter model the Classic 350. The brand has already introduced the BS6 compliant model in the Indian market but the Classic 350 will be coming soon with a new engine, chassis, electronics and other new features. While the brand plans to retain the original design of the motorcycle the Classic 350 will come with better ergonomics as well as more accessories. According to spy pictures, Royal Enfield could be testing the motorcycle for its luggage mounting and carrying abilities.
The next-generation Royal Enfield Classic 350 are likely to come with plug and play accessories such as luggage mounts and side panniers. A test mule of the Classic 350 with a black pannier undergoing road testing has been spied. Sources believe that the test mule had more than one accessory mounted on the motorcycle. The test mule could also be testing a tail rack which could have a carrying capacity of 3 to 7 kgs. This is also likely to allow the customer to fix a top box on the tail to carry a few extra oddities or lock in their helmets and riding gear on long rides. The motorcycle is seen sans camouflage leading us to believe that the brand is now in the final evaluation stages and the next-generation Classic 350 is likely to make its debut soon.
The next-generation Classic 350 is likely to come with a new chassis that made its debut on the Meteor 350. The new chassis will improve the riding dynamic and handling of the motorcycle as well as reduce the weight. Powering the Classic 350 will be the J series engine that does duty on the Meteor 350. The engine is a 349cc single-block long-stroke motor with oil-cooling channels engineered into the head, a crank balancer and features electronic fuel injection technology that produces 20.2 Bhp of power and 27 Nm of torque on the Meteor 350. The brand has also refined the 5-speed gearbox with a new 7-plate clutch pack that boasts to improve the shifting smoothness.
