2021 Renault Kriger interiors revealed in spyshots

Renault’s upcoming car, dubbed Kriger has been spotted testing in the Indian market on more than one occasions and up until now information only on the exterior of the Renault Kriger has been available but new spy shots of the Kriger have now revealed the interiors of the car as well.

The Renault Kriger is likely to be based on the Nissan-Renault CMF-A+ (Common Module Family) platform that underpins the Renault Triber and both the vehicles are expected to share the engine and gearbox as well. But on the inside, the Renault Kriger features distinguishing features from the Triber as seen in the spy pictures that have been circulating the internet.

According to the spy shots, the dashboard fascia comes in a multi-layered design with a floating type touchscreen infotainment system on the centre likely to be 8.0-inch in size, air-con vents below the infotainment system, rotary knob air conditioning controls, push-button start/stop on the transmission tunnel, control mounted steering wheel, digital instruments control, dual gloveboxes etc.

The Renault Kriger is likely to get the powertrain from the Renault Triber which is powered by a BS6 compliant 1.0-litre ‘Energy’ three-cylinder, petrol engine that produces 72 PS of power and is paired to an AMT gearbox. The spied car also features two pedals on the floor and a generous dead pedal confirming that an automatic transmission model was being tested. The Kriger is also speculated to come with a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that makes around 95 Hp of power matched to a CVT transmission. The brand is not likely to offer a diesel powertrain.

The exterior spy shots of the Renault Kriger reveal that the compact SUV features the brand’s latest design language as seen on the Kwid and features V-shaper grille, a split setup on the front fascia with its LED daytime running lights under the bonnet lip and triple-pot headlamps mounted lower on the front apron.

Upon launch, the Renault Kriger will rival the likes of the Hyundai Venue, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300 and Ford EcoSport.
