MG has launched the facelift model of the ZS EV in the Indian market priced at INR 20,99,800 ex-showroom, India. The MG ZS EV facelift features no changes to its exteriors, only mild improvements to its interiors but the 100% electric powertrain has been updated for 2021 and now comes with an even longer range of 419 km on a single charge. The brand has also revealed that the outgoing all-electric SUV has gone 64 Million kilometres saving 935 tons of carbon dioxide emissions which is equivalent to 5607 full-grown trees, saving the environment further with the launch of the facelift.
Apart from the updated all-weather Hi-Tech battery pack, the 5-seater all-electric SUV is powered by a 142.7 PS / 353 Nm electric motor, capable of propelling the SUV from 0-100 kmph in just 8.5 seconds. But the new 44.5kWh Ultra High-Density Lithium-Ion IP-67 rated new and improved Hi-Tech battery pack returns a claimed range of 419 km on a single charge which significantly more than the predecessor and has been optimised for compatibility in various climatic conditions that are observed in the Indian geography.
The MG ZS EV facelift also comes with a higher 177mm ground clearance, a new battery placement which is 220mm higher, a new set of 215/55/R17 tyres and a new EcoTree features on the MG Smart App. The MG ZS EV was only available in 5 major cities across India but now the brand has added 31 new cities, from where the new ZS EV can now be booked.
The 2021 MG ZS EV also features a 5-year unlimited kilometre warranty at no extra cost extendable for up to 8yrs / 1.5 lakh kilometre warranty on the Battery Pack system, round-the-clock Roadside Assistance (RSA) for 5 years, and 5 Labour-free Services, under the MG eShield package. The MG ZS EV is offered in two variants, the entry-level ‘Excite’ variant priced at INR 20,99,800 ex-showroom, India and the fully-loaded ‘Exclusive’ variant priced at INR 24.18,000 ex-showroom, India.
