Not too long ago, MG introduced the MY2021 Hector and MG Hector Plus 7-seater in the Indian market. The brand has now brought yet another upgrade to the MG Hector and Hector Plus 6-Seater. The new upgrade strengthens the brand’s Automatic transmission portfolio by the addition of the new CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) option. The CVT gearbox is available only on select 2021 MG Hector and Hector Plus 6-seater petrol-powered trims namely – Smart and Sharp.
The MG Hector Smart petrol CVT is available at INR 16.51 lakh ex-showroom, India. The Hector Plus 6-seater in the same trim costs INR 17.21 lakh ex-showroom, India. On the interiors, the Hector 2021 gets dual-tone Champagne and Black cabin theme, ventilated seats, wireless charging and enhanced i-Smart with Hinglish Voice Commands and more.
Powering both the MG Hector 2021 and the Hector Plus 6-seater is a BS6-compliant 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol motor that makes 143 PS of power and 250 Nm of torque paired to a 6-Speed Manual Transmission or a DCT gearbox. In the Diesel avatar MG Hector 2021 and Hector Plus is available with a 2.0-litre Turbo-Diesel engine that churns out 170 PS of power and 350 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The diesel option does not offer an automatic transmission option.
Now the MG Hector 2021 and Hector Plus 6-seater is available with the CVT (continously Variable Transmission) option on the petrol powertrain to further provide a wide choice of engine and gearbox combination to its customers.
