The MG Hector facelift has been spotted yet again in the new avatar spotted at a TVC shoot indicating that the brand will be launching the SUV soon in the Indian market. The MG Hector facelift has been spotted on more than one occasion in the Indian market and spy shots suggest that the car will be updated with new design alloy wheels, a new radiator grille, slightly revised interiors and updates to the quality of the materials.
The new MG Hector is expected to get a new chrome studded grille design (earlier cars spied featured a horizontally slated grille design) but other details that were hypothesized earlier such as the dual-tone dashboard, a new dual-tone 5-spoke alloy wheel and dual-tone exterior paint with Red and Black combination. The mildly facelifted car features the same headlamps, and taillamps, the same bumper design and dashboard layout. The comfort and convenience features on the SUV are also likely to remain the same and the vertically positioned touchscreen infotainment system is also likely to receive some updates in terms of the user interface.
The brand had also offered the dual-tone shade called the Dual Delight edition in the recent past offered in Red & Black and White & Black colours. The Dual Delight edition is available only in the top-of-the-line Sharp trim option.
The MG Hector is powered by a BS6 emission compliant 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine that produces 143 PS of power and 250 Nm of torque available in a manual gearbox. The Diesel model is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine that produces 170 PS of power and 350 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed manual transmission option. The petrol engine also comes with an optional 48V mild-hybrid system. The powertrain on the facelift model is expected to be carried over from the outgoing car.
