MG Motors had recently unveiled the updated Hector. The design has remained more or less the same as the outgoing model though there are some minor changes to make the car look fresher. The front grille has been redesigned and the SUV’s stance has improved as it now comes with 18-inch wheels with a set of new diamond-cut alloys. The car now has an option for a dual-tone treatment with blacked-out ORVM which acts as a key differentiator for the Hector 2021.

The mechanicals are exactly the same as the predecessor and the SUV is offered with three drivetrains; petrol hybrid and petrol which are powered by a 1.5-litre motor whereas for the diesel lovers, MG has retained the 2.0-litre turbocharged motor. Two gearbox options are on offer; a manual and a DCT automatic.

The Sharp trim of the 5 Seater Hector and the 7 Seater Hector Plus Select variant are offered exactly same at the price i.e. INR 18.32 lakhs (ex-showroom) though the 5 Seater Sharp trim has few additional features such as 360 Camera, Electric Tailgate, Fully Digital Speedometer, 6 Airbags, Heated ORVMs, Powered Co Passenger Seat, Auto Headlamps and Auto Wipers, Ventilated Front Seats, Ambient Lighting and more.

In the interiors, the Hector 2021 is now finished with beige and black which adds to give a more airy feel. Features like ventilated front seats, wireless charging, 10.4-inch HD infotainment system will surely keep its occupants at their utmost comfort. The inclusion of Hinglish commands added with the connected car features will attract a lot of Indian customers’ attention. The pricing starts from INR 12.9 lakhs and goes all the way up till 19.1 lakhs which suggests that the price has increased slightly which is understood, given the addition of new features.
