2021 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R unveiled, could launch in India soon

Kawasaki has unveiled the 2021 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R in the Indonesian market featuring a new livery. The remainder of the motorcycle is identical to its predecessor the MY2020 model which was sold in India priced at INR 10.49 lakh ex-showroom. Kawasaki has not yet hinted if the new graphic theme will be launched in the Indian market but is expected to come with the BS6 update of the motorcycle soon.

The new theme features a green tank and nose fairing along with green finished top portion of the rear cowling, layered new livery on the side cowling finished in black along with a red stripe and white finished belly with red accents towards the sharper ends. The aerodynamic nose also features graphics finished in red that correspond to the red accents on the side fairing. 

The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R features the brand’s latest-generation design language with evolved Ninja face that comes with twin split LED headlamps, a triangular ram air duct in between, a race-style windscreen, high set tail with overlapping and interwoven cowl sections and LED tail lamps inspired by the Ninja ZX-10R. The engine covers are finished in gun-metal same as the predecessor and the Ninja ZX-6R comes with a side slung metal finished exhaust. 

Powering the Ninja ZX-6R is the 636cc In-Line Four-Cylinder, Liquid-Cooled, 4-stroke, 16-valve DOHC engine that comes with fuel-injection and oval sub-throttles that produces 130 PS of power (136 PS with Ram Air Induction) and 70.8 Nm of torque matched to a cassette type 6-speed gearbox and assist and slipper clutch. 

The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R features a pressed aluminium perimeter frame that rides on Showa 41 mm diameter upside-down Big Piston Separate Function Fork (SFF-BP) with rebound and compression damping and spring preload adjustability on the front and adjustable Bottom-Link Uni Trak, gas-charged shock with a piggyback reservoir on the rear. The Ninja ZX-6R features twin petal 310mm discs on the front and single 220mm hydraulically operated disc brakes with KIBS (Kawasaki Intelligent anti-lock Brake System).  The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R also comes with features such as adjustable clutch levers, KTRC (Kawasaki TRaction Control), KQS (Kawasaki Quick Shifter), multi-function LCD screen etc.
