2021 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10RR revealed during WSBK test, looks good?

The 2021 Kawasaki Ninja ZX10-RR breaks cover on the second day of FIM SuperBike World Championships (WSBK) Winter Test in Jerez. The next-generation Ninja ZX-10RR donning a carbon-fibre test livery has been revealed at the test track. The 2021 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10RR also topped the timesheets as the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship machines came to an end.

Jonathan Rea (Kawasaki Racing Team WorldSBK) clocked the best lap time of the day with around 15 minutes remaining on the clock. Rea’s lap time of 1’38.324s is just one-tenth away from the all-time WorldSBK record set in 2019. Jonathan Rea’s teammate Alex Lowes also got to test the 2021 Ninja ZX-10RR for the first time and was only three-tenths slower than his teammate and third overall for the day.

The 2021 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10RR has been revealed with a new menacing front end with sharp line and aero efficient ducts that aim to increase front end stability and aerodynamics. The front fascia features sleek LED headlamps recessed into a heavy brow and large air intakes. The tank and the tail appear to remain similar to the current model with only mild updates.

In the engine department, the 2021 Ninja ZX-10RR is likely to be powered by the same Euro5 spec engine with changes to its tune. The 998cc, water-cooled, four-valve per cylinder, four-stroke DOHC mill is expected to produce 201 HP of power @ 14,000 RPM matched to a cassette-style 6-speed gearbox.

In terms of the mechanical parts, the 2021 Ninja ZX-10RR is expected to sport World Superbike developed Balance Free Front Fork, Balance Free Rear Cushion (BFRC), Brembo discs with radially mounted Brembo monobloc callipers, Bosch Inertial Measuring Unit (IMU) and electronic intervention and safety systems such as KIBS (Kawasaki Intelligent Anti-Lock Brakes) and Cornering management function, Sport-Kawasaki traction control, Dual Direction Kawasaki Quick-Shifter (KQS) etc.

The Japanese brand is likely to reveal the production-series 2021 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10RR today on 23rd November 2020.
