Kawasaki has introduced the 2021 Model Year KLX 300 Dual Sport in the North American market, priced starting at USD 5,599 MSRP. The 2021 KLX 300 Dual Sport is offered in two colour variants – Lime Green and Fragment Camo Grey, the latter demands USD 200 more for the special colour and premium paint finish. The 2021 KLX 300 Dual Sport features a new cleaner emission running engine and comes with revised styling.
The 2021 Kawasaki KLX 300 Dual Sport is offered with typical enduro styling, a high mounted flying front fender, a multi-reflector headlamp, an integrated flyscreen, LCD instruments cluster, high forward set tank with tank cowlings, mid-set footpegs for easy out-of saddle riding, a flat handlebar with a handlebar brace, a flat-bench seat to enable enhanced rider movement, under-seat exhaust, classic rounded mirrors and a minimalist rear end.
The KLX 300 Dual Sport features a high tensile steel box-section perimeter frame that rides on 43mm inverted cartridge fork with adjustable compression damping on the front with 234mm of travel and a Uni-Trak gas-charged shock with piggyback reservoir with adjustable rebound damping and spring preload on the rear offering 231mm of travel. The Kawasaki KLX 300 Dual Sport is offered with 21-inch front and 18-inch rear spoke rims shod in 3.0×21 front and 4.6×18 dual-sport tyres. The 2021 Kawasaki KLX 300 is offered with a single 250mm petal disc on the front equipped with a dual-piston calliper and a single 240mm petal disc with a single-piston calliper on the rear.
The 2021 Kawasaki KLX 300 Dual Sport is powered by a 292cc single-cylinder water-cooled 4-stroke DOHC engine with 34mm Keihin throttle body and DFI electronic fuel injection matched to a 6-speed gearbox with return shift and wet multi-disc clutch. The KLX 300 Dual Sport tips the scales at just 137 kgs at the kerb, features 249 mm of ground clearance to traverse over any terrain but comes with a whopping 894 mm of seat height which will be a challenge for shorter riders but the suspension compresses considerably allowing some leeway, inseam challenged riders ought to try the motorcycle first before writing off the cheque.
The KLX 300 Dual Sport is the perfect motorcycle for Indian road condition but it will be too expensive for the segment, repelling the mainstream buyers. But it is an excellent off-road tool for enthusiast and budding racers to keep their skill set sharp.
