Jeep has unveiled the new Compass facelift in the Indian market and the brand has announced that the new Compass SUV will be launched at the end of January. The bookings of the Jeep Compass are also expected to commence shortly. The 2021 Compass SUV comes with mild changes to the exteriors but the brand has made major changes to the dashboard layout, equipment and features of the premium SUV. The Compass SUV was updated to BS6 emission standards last year and the powertrain is expected to be carried over from the outgoing car.
On the outside, the new Jeep Compass features a new radiator grille with a chrome-accented design that gives the vehicle a new imposing look from the front. The brand has also refreshed the headlamp cluster which now comes with new inserts and integrated LED daytime running lights. The front bumper also comes with a refreshed design that neatly integrates a set of LED fog lamps. The rear section of the SUV has been mildly updated with reworked tail lamps and a new bumper profile. The new Jeep Compass now comes with a new shade of Green and is offered with new design alloy wheels. The SUV also features a shark fin antenna on the roof, roof rails and a unique chrome garnish on the DLO area.
On the inside, the new Jeep Compass is offered with a redesigned dashboard with a new leather trim, Ventilated Seats with 8-way power adjustment, that houses new 10.1-inch floating touchscreen infotainment equipped with the latest UConnect 5 that features OTA updates and is 5 times faster than the predecessor, the interface is also user customisable, wireless Apple CarPlat and Android Auto, voice control, new horizontal air-conditioning vents that integrates with the dashboard fascia, leather seat upholstery with Jeep motif, a new steering wheel design with controls, a newly designed gear selector lever, new 10.25-inch fully digital instruments cluster, new air conditioning controls, electrochromic IRVM, 360-degree camera and new satin chrome elements on the dashboard making the interiors look more affluent than before.
The 2021 Jeep Compass is expected to be powered by a BS6 emission-compliant 1.4-litre Multiair four-cylinder turbocharged-petrol motor that pumps out 162 PS of power and 250 Nm of torque. For diesel aficionados, the Compass facelift is also offered with a BS6 emissions-compliant 2.0-litre Multijet diesel engine that belts out 173 PS of power and 350 Nm of torque.
