2021 Indian Chief motorcycle range coming to India by June

American motorcycle brand, Indian Motorcycles will be bringing the entire Chief line-up to the Indian market in Q2 of 2021. The line-up includes three models – the Indian Chief, Chief Bobber and Super Chief. The motorcycles will use a new frame and the brand’s renowned Thunderstroke engine along with a plethora of new electronic features which includes riding modes and electronic cruise control system. Indian Motorcycles will also make available 80+ accessories for the Indian Chief range that includes parts specially designed for the Chief.

Mechanical Bits & Powertrain

Powering the Chief range will be a 1890cc Thunderstrokeengine that belts out 162 Nm of torque. The Indian Chief range features a classic steel welded tube frame that rides on 46mm telescopic forks on the front with 132mm of wheel travel, dual outboard preload-adjustable rear shocks and 19-inch cast wheels or 16-inch spoke-wire wheels shod in Pirelli Night Dragon tyres.

Design & Styling

The Indian Chief features minimalist styling with a classic American stripped-down look, drag-style handlebars, a slim headlamp bucket, mid-set footpegs, a solo seat and three colour options – Black Smoke, Alumina Jade Smoke and Stealth Gray. The Indian Chief Bobber comes with mini Ape-Hanger handlebars, a large headlight bucket wrapped in a nacelle, forward-set controls and a commanding riding posture. The Chief Bobber is available in Black Smoke, Titanium Smoke, and Sagebrush Smoke paint themes. The Super Chief features traditional cruiser handlebars, a large headlight bucket with nacelle, touring seat with passenger pad, a full chrome exhaust and comes in Black Metallic, Blue Slate Metallic, and Maroon Metallic colour options.

Features

The Indian Chief range will feature LED headlamps and taillamps, a large 15.1-litre fuel tank, keyless ignition, three riding modes – Standard, Sport and Tour, Anti-lock brakes, electronic cruise control and a 101 mm round RIDE COMMAND system. The Indian Chief models will be brought to the Indian market via the CBU route and deliveries are likely to begin by June 2021.
