Hyundai recently revealed its plans to introduce the N Line performance cars in the Indian market. However, the brand did not reveal which car it plans to bring to India in the near future. But we broke the news that Hyundai N Line is coming to India in 2021, starting with i20 N Line. Now, type-approval documents have leaked on the internet, which confirms our speculation.
Hyundai i20 N Line – Type Approval Documents Reveal Details
According to the type approval documents, the Hyundai i20 N Line will come with Asta, Asta (O), N6 N Line and N8 N Line variants. The documents also reveal the engine specifications, transmission options, dimensions and weight of the i20 N Line. According to the documents, the i20 N Line will come with a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine. The Asta, N Line N6 and N Line N8 variants come with an iMT gearbox. On the other hand, the Asta (O) and the N Line N8 comes with a DCT gearbox option.
Hyundai i20 N Line – Specifications According to Leaked Type Approval Documents
Powering the Hyundai i20 N Line will be a 998cc three-cylinder turbo gasoline direct injection (turbo-petrol) engine with OBD-1. The BS6 approved engine produces 120 PS of power @ 6000 rpm. Furthermore, the documents also reveal that the car will have a GVW of 1480 kg on the DCT (Dual Clutch Transmission) automatic model and 1430 kg GVW (Gross Vehicle Weight) on the iMT (intelligent Manual Transmission) Clutchless Manual transmission. In terms of dimensions, the i20 N Line will measure 3995mm in length, 1775mm in width, 1505mm in height and comes with a wheelbase of 2580mm.
Hyundai i20 N Line – Design & Styling
The N Line performance model will come with a motorsport-inspired design. The i20 N Line will come with a sporty body kit, sharper bumper design and a new grille with a chequered flag design. The i20 N Line will also come with a sporty diffuser on the rear, larger alloy wheels and wider contact tyres. The car will also come with sporty twin exhaust outlets upgraded brakes and a more responsive steering wheel. Also, the interiors will come with N Line specific upholstery and dashboard trim.
Expect Hyundai to introduce the i20 N Line by the end of this year.
