2021 Honda PCX 160 in India would be the perfect rival for Aprilia SXR 160

Honda has introduced the new 2021 line-up of PCX scooters in the Japanese market which includes the Honda PCX 125, the PCX 160 and the PCX e: HEV. The 2021 Honda PCX 125 is priced at JPY 357,500 MSRP, JPY 407,000 MSRP for the PCX 160 and the PCX e: HEV is priced at JPY 448,800 MSRP. It is important to note that the Honda PCX e: HEV scooter with the 125cc electric-hybrid powertrain is a Made-To-Order scooter in the Japanese market. 

All three Honda PCX scooter features the same maxi-scooter design language and comes with features such as an aerodynamic front apron with an integrated flyscreen that offers wind protection to the rider, V-shaped LED headlamp units, integrated turn indicator lamps, LED combination tail lamps, ergonomically designed seats, comfortable handlebars and footboards, a large glove compartment, a new wide dashboard with a central LCD instruments display, etc. The Honda PCX scooter range also comes with common features such as dedicated idle stop/start switch, hazard lamps, Honda Selectable Torque Control, Honda SMART Key System, Alloy wheels, disc brakes, etc. 

The 2021 Honda PCX 125 is powered by a 125cc single-cylinder, water-cooled 4-stroke 4-valve SOHC petrol engine with Honda eSP+ technology and electronic fuel injection that produces 12.5 Hp of power and 12 Nm of torque matched to a belt-driven V-Matic Continuously Variable Transmission with a dry centrifugal clutch. 

The 2021 Honda PCX 160 is powered by a 156cc single-cylinder, water-cooled 4-stroke 4-valve SOHC petrol motor with Honda eSP+ technology and electronic fuel injection that makes 15.8 PS of power and 15 Nm of torque matched to a V-Matic CVT automatic gearbox and dry centrifugal clutch. 

The 2021 Honda PCX e: HEV is powered by the same 124cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine from the PCX 125 but coupled with a Honda e: Technology 0.36 kW AC synchronous motor with a 1.9 PS power and 4.3 Nm torque capacity and a lithium-ion battery pack and a dedicated Assist Power ON/OFF switch. The mild-hybrid system can provide assistance to the engine through the ACG motor improving the torque by 33% when the throttle is opened, providing a balance between performance and efficiency. 

The 2021 Honda PCX range will be available in Japan by the end of January 2021.
