Honda has been long rumoured to introduce the next-generation all-new 2021 Honda CBR 600RR and the brand has finally teased the middleweight track attack motorcycle that gives us a glimpse of what to expect in the near future. The teaser reveals that the 2021 Honda CBR 600RR not only comes with new updates on the outside the motorcycle is also expected to feature a new electronics package with plenty of rider aids and latest-generation technology.
On terms of design and styling, the 2021 Honda CBR 600R draws its design inspiration heavily from its big brother the Honda CBR 1000RR-R. The middleweight super sportbike features all-LED lighting with sleek headlamp units, a central air duct for ram air induction, thin bar-style LED tail lamps, a race-style bubble windscreen, aero winglets that flank the sides, step-up seating, clip-on handlebar and retains its hallmark, the under-seat exhaust system.
The brand has not yet revealed any details on the powertrain but the 2021 CBR 600RR In the engine department, is likely to feature an updated version of the 599cc four-cylinder, four-stroke, four-valve per cylinder DOHC engine that produced around 120 Hp of power and 60 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed gearbox. The updates are likely to be concentrated on the emission norms and possibly the brand could extract slightly more power from the engine.
The Honda CBR 600RR will feature a 4-5-inch fully-digital colour instruments screen as revealed in the teaser and the 2021 model is also speculated to get an advanced electronics package based on the elder sibling, the CBR 1000RR-R that features Throttle-By-Wire (TBW) with selectable riding modes, Slip Rate Control, adjustable Start Mode, Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC), cornering ABS, 6-axis IMU etc.
While Honda may launch the 2021 Honda CBR 600RR in the Japanese and the ASEAN markets soon the middleweight super sportbike is not likely to arrive on Indian soil any time soon. But Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. (HMSI) has started accepting pre-launch bookings on the 2020 Honda CBR 1000RR-R Fireblade and Fireblade SP in the Indian market.
